The OSCAR Vaporizer provides accurate concentrations of anesthetic gases in the fresh gas supply. The concentration is specified using a dial on the top of the vaporizer. The fresh gas should be between 0.5L/min and 15L/min.
The OSCAR Vaporizer is intended for use in the fresh gas supply of a continuous flow anesthesia machine. It should be connected between the flow meters and the common gas outlet. The OSCAR Vaporizer have interlock system to avoid simultaneous uses of two vaporizers unexpectedly. This allows only one vaporizer to be ‘ON’ at any given point of time.

CALIBRATION
The Isoflurane and Halothane are calibrated to 5% v/v in steps of 0.2% up to 1%, and in steps of 0.5% at 2°C using O₂ at 5 L/Min as the carrier gas.
The Sevoflurane is calibrated to 8% v/v in steps of 0.2 and upto 1% v/v and in 0.1% between 1% and 8%.
Accuracy
5 L/min O₂ @ 21°C ± 2°C
Vaporizer 5% : (± 0.25% of delivered agent or ± 15% of dial setting)
(Whichever is greater)
Vaporizer 8% : (± 0.4% of delivered agent or ± 15% of dial setting)
(Whichever is greater)
