The essential features of the circle absorber are CO₂ absorber canister, breathing bag, unidirectional inspiratory and expiratory valves, fresh gas supply and pressure relief valve. The absorber is connected to the patient via corrugated hose and a y-piece attached to the inspiratory and expiratory valves.
